Over the course of the last two years one of my aims has been to slowly and carefully collect a curated collection of clothes that I love. In some cases – like this dress – once they arrived – I was pleased with them, but they weren’t quite perfect yet.

I have two lengths that I like when it comes to dresses and skirts, at the ankle or at the knee. I HATE mid-lengths on me. They cut my legs off weirdly and they make me feel stodgy. My second problem is that silk is incredibly lightweight. Which feels great when you’re wearing it, but not so great when you flash the queue in Tescos. So I needed to lengthen the dress, add a little bit of weight to it, and after a fair amount of searching, I found the perfect hem for the project!
