This year one of my writing challenges is to write three short stories/novellas and one full book. Elwyn’s Mermaid – the first story – Switcher, Tooth and finally a full book at the end of the year called Aphelion. To start off this series I’ll be starting with a story which is probably the most personal, Elwyn’s Mermaid. I got the idea for this story when I lost my first child a  few years ago. It was an incredibly rough time and writing Elwyn’s mermaid was a way for me to work through my grief. So with that being said, this isn’t a light story. I don’t do light in general, but I hope it’s a little bit uplifting right now when there seems to be so much bad and overwhelming news.
